History of MCR Technologies
MCR Technologies started out as Mass Cash Register. It was founded in 1975 by Tom Speropoulos in the basement of his home in Lynn Massachusetts. Mass Cash Register was incorporated in 1979. It wasn’t long before there was too much business to handle alone so the first office in Lynn was opened and additional staff was hired. Strategic partnerships with a few cash register manufactures enabled the company to grow beyond the space allotted for the Lynn office.
In 1982 Mass Cash moved its corporate offices to plush accommodations in Stoneham Massachusetts. With the additional space and personnel Mass Cash was able to obtain many manufactures recognition awards. Mass Cash was the first cash register company in the United States to obtain sales levels never achieved before by any independent dealer.
In 1984 Mass Cash purchase Boston Cash Register Exchange. BCR has been in business since 1935 at the same location in South Boston.
In 1999 Mass Cash moved to our current office location in Wakefield Massachusetts. This year was also notable with the adaption of our restaurant software for use in the HealthCare industry.
In 2001 Mass Cash Register officially changed its name to MCR Technologies. The name change was done to present a more technological company as most of our sales were powered by computer based technologies.
In 2003 MCR Technologies released a new version of the room service software called HealthTouch. At this time we had over 100 hospitals installed nationwide.
Today MCR Technologies is the leading provider of room service dinning software to the HealthCare industry in the country! We have installed our system in more than 300 hospitals across the United States and Canada. We also continue to be a major force in the POS market in eastern Massachusetts.
